PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Absolutely. You can fight him, stab him, punch him, go for it. I promise he will respond.
ROMANCE/FLIRTING: You could try. His disposition is often hard to read, and even if he feels something, he's not letting you know that. He likes animals so that might help?
SEXUAL CONTENT: No
PSYCHIC ABILITIES: None
MAGIC/POWERS: Shadow Powers (Scroll to bottom for Comprehensive List)
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: Commentary/ philosophies pertaining to good and evil/ right are wrong. He has very particular views and he will fight you if you question them and it puts him or someone he cares about in danger. Anything pertaining to animal abuse. He canonically prefers animals over people. Unfairness or general ill treatment of good individuals will anger him as well.

BACKTAGGING: Yes no problem!
FOURTH WALLING: Yes, Honestly he comes from a pretty modern Earth and they make references to pop culture all the time in canon.
THREADHOPPING: Sure
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: Honestly none. I can handle horror, trauma, psychological disturbances. Its hard to squick me out!
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Anything sexual as I am not comfortable playing that sort of situation especially with a character who is canonically a minor. Also I do not participate in Sex swap machines.
ANYTHING ELSE: tl;dr warning! I enjoy writing action and CR. PM if you have any interest in talking plot or character points you would like to try and discover through story. I love coming up with different scenarios, and enjoy working with other writers (especially characters I'm not familiar with!)

Character Background
• History: Wiki
• Core Relationships:
- Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro are both close friends as well as rivals. Megumi feels personally responsible for Yuji being dragged into the Jujutsu World. Megumi was almost killed when they first met which prompted Yuji to consume the cursed finger which allowed Sukuna to take control over his body. Instead of having the curse exterminated, he pleads with Satoru Gojo to not kill Itadori. His philosophy of wanting to save good people is what drives him to protect Yuji. Similarly Yuji also has an intense passion to protect people, but he does not discriminate on their past actions. In the cursed womb arc their philosophies clash. Yuji wants to save the prisoners who at this time were most likely dead, while Megumi argues that saving the life of an individual who might go on to take another’s life is useless. The two get into a physical altercation and are only interrupted by the special grade curse. By the end of this arc, Megumi believes Yuji to be dead, and in an effort to show respect as well as learn from Yuji, he brings the nametag of the dead prisoner to the mother. This is an action he would never have done prior to meeting Yuji. This demonstrates that Yuji’s actions and their friendship have a direct impact on Megumi’s actions and moral compass. After the Yasohachi Bridge incident, Megumi reveals to Nobara that the reason these curses manifested was essentially because of Sukuna’s resurrection. Not wanting Yuji to feel at fault or troubled by this, he begs Nobara not to tell Yuji. This demonstrates that Megumi takes responsibility for the actions Sukuna takes or has caused. He feels that because of his selfish need to protect Yuji, the destruction and deeds of Sukuna are his to shoulder. The rivalry between the two is actually very healthy and more competitive in nature. When Yuji returns to the good will event (much to the surprise of Megumi who thought he was dead) this shocks and disturbs him. Imagine having a friend come back from the dead with no signs of distress. He looks visibly unwell, but is overall relieved that his friend is still alive. After the good will event is over, Yuji has unlocked the ability to use black flash. A power that only very skilled sorcerers can use correctly. Realizing their power differences, he seeks out Gojo’s help in order to train and become stronger. He tells Yuji he too will get stronger implying that he is going to catch up or even attempt to surpass him. Later on, he proves this statement true when he uses his domain expansion and is the only first year student to do so. Overall, their relationship is very important and arguably a driving force in moving the plot forward. The power struggle between the two pushes Megumi to go past his limits. There are many individuals both in the Jujutsu school as well as the real world who would want to either control or kill Yuji. All of these threats Megumi tries his best to fight against in order to defend his friend Yuji.
- Tsumiki Fushiguro is the stepsister of Megumi. Although she is only seen through flashbacks, she is very important to Megumi’s way of thinking. When both of them were young children (between 6-8 years old), they believed that their parents had run away and abandoned them . Left for months alone, the two survived by using the money that their parents left. Tsumiki took on the role of cleaning and cooking for the two of them. As a small child Megumi was not very close to his sister. He even went so far as to think her stupid. He understood that she was a good person, but felt that “ [good people] forgive the bad as if forgiving them is divine” then continuing to say `` [and] it makes me [Megumi] want to puke.” He feels that good people let bad people get away with their wicked deeds solely because good people get satisfaction out of forgiving those people. In middle school, he would regularly get into fights with bullies, but not because he was being bullied. In fact, he was fighting because these bullies would disrespect other kids, and he felt they should be taught a lesson. He states, “You shouldn’t cross any line that violates another person’s dignity. You should acknowledge each other’s existence.” Tsumiki always tried to encourage Megumi that fighting was not the right path. This did not work well because of his view of forgiveness and what is right and wrong had become so skewed. He never understood why she was so kind, even to those who did not deserve kindness. This all changed when she fell into a coma. His world was rocked by the idea that this good person, his very sister, who did nothing wrong was unfairly being attacked. It was because of her comatose state, and the previous situation they had been in together, that forced him to change his perspective. It was from there on, he believed that as long as he had the ability to do so, he would choose who was good enough to be saved. Megumi knows that this act in itself is selfish and unfair, and he does not want to be considered a hero to those he chooses to save because by default, there will always be others he chose not to help. Tsumiki’s gentle soul and kind nature, opened up Megumi’s eyes to the notion that truly good people do exist and deserve some form of salvation. She changed his philosophy and has a huge impact on the current Megumi the audience sees now.
- Satoru Gojo is the mentor and closest to a father figure Megumi has. Although Megumi is very formal to most people, his formality towards Gojo has been noted to drop somewhat. Gojo met Megumi when he was in the 1st grade. After defeating Toji (Megumi’s biological father) he felt obligated to find Megumi before he was set to be sold off to one of the prominent head families, the Zenin Clan. (Megumi is confirmed to be of Zenin blood and coveted for his inherited Shadow technique by the family). He uses his status as the strongest sorcerer to get Megumi into the Jujutsu world and fully cover him financially along with his sister. When asked what Gojo means to him, Megumi replies, “Well, I guess I owe him my life. I guess…” He never finishes his thought out loud. This shows that Megumi feels very grateful, but also hints he does not want to ask Gojo for more support because he feels he has done so much already. Gojo on the other hand does not mind feeling needed or helping out. Gojo sees a lot of similarities between himself and Megumi. To elaborate, both have the special curse technique inherited from their bloodlines, and both fight better when no one else is around to get in the way. Megumi has some self-esteem/ insecurities when comparing himself to Gojo. Imagine being compared to the top athlete in a particular field, but feeling like you are only as good as a high school varsity athlete. This is very much a constant factor in Megumi’s mind. Gojo does care about Megumi and small details very much highlight that fact. After the Hidden Inventory arc ( a detailed account of Gojo’s youth) Gojo wakes up to find his three students staring at him. The author, Akutami, frames this scene so the audience can see a flashback of when Gojo and Megumi first meet. However, it is implied that Gojo may have been dreaming about that moment, because when he wakes up he looks at Megumi smiling to which Megumi replies “what are you smiling about?” and Gojo answers oh nothing <3 (heart symbol included). Another great example is that when Yuji is introduced as being Megumi's next door roommate, Gojo says he thinks its important for Megumi to socialize and be positive, to which Megumi gives a very teenage expression along the lines of "yeah right." This shows that even as Megumi ages, Gojo does see him as an adoptive son and definitely has a soft spot for him. He wants to inspire and push Megumi to continue to grow as a person.
- Toji Fushiguro/Zenin’s lack of relationship damaged Megumi. Toji is his biological father. Unbeknown to Megumi, Toji was actually killed by Gojo. Megumi believes he was abandoned by a good-for-nothing dad. Megumi’s name is typically given to females, but it is explained that Toji wanted to name his child Megumi regardless of their gender because the name means “blessing.” It was Toji’s hope to sell back his son to the clan he abandoned in order to give Megumi the opportunity to be a real sorcerer. Megumi believes his father couldn't be bothered with coming up with a name and just picked his name and stuck with it. This results in Megumi choosing to go by Fushiguro by mostly everyone except Gojo. When Toji is briefly resurrected he is delighted to hear that Megumi goes by Fushiguro and not Zenin, feeling some sense of pride in having his son keep the name he chose (He took his wife’s name and dropped Zenin). Having to survive with no parents made Megumi a very independent and cold child. His jaded view of the world can be directly attributed to the abandonment and lack of care from his father.
- Side note! It is also important to note that all of the closest relationships/bonds he shares is with individuals who are not related to him by blood. This shows that despite his very closed off nature, the right person can reach him, but it requires detailed CR.
Character Personality Through Key Moments
(2+) Positive Experiences:
- Megumi is a very stoic and pragmatic character which allows him to not get emotional and think with a clear mind. In the chaos of the Shibuya Incident, Yuji and Megumi come face to face with Jiro Awasaka, an old curse user with a very unusual technique. The technique depends on how hard Jiro is hit. The harder he is hit the weaker the attack is against him, but the weaker he is attacked the more damage he will incur. In order to figure this out, Megumi stops to think while his companion, Yuji, actually begins to worry and continues talking. To this Megumi he replies simply “shut up” and continues thinking. He tells Yuji they need to retreat and then instructs him to relentlessly attack. Testing out if his theory is correct with a series of hits ranging from small taps to enormous assaults. He finds the old man is quite surprised and actually quite angry that he has figured it out. Instead of adjusting, Jiro freaks out, and this allows Yuji and Megumi to finish him off. The key to this, is that Megumi is quite rational and able to think (for the most part) without panic, in ever evolving circumstances. Not once during this battle did he ever get flustered or panicked. He remained level headed, and tested out strategies until figuring the best course of action, which led to their victory.
- Megumi’s cool headed and analytical demeanor allow him to excel at identifying and exploiting the weaknesses of his opponents. One of these examples occurs when he is fighting Hanami with Maki. The majority of the previous attacks had not worked on the special grade curse’s durable body, until Megumi struck his eyes with his katana. He immediately realized that his eyes took more damage and regenerated more slowly. Although ultimately he was not able to defeat Hanami, he told this information to Gojo, who later used this to his advantage in Shibuya. He was able to remove both of Hanami’s eye branches effectively causing the curse to lose its power and be killed off with ease. His ability to analyze an opponent is truly unmatched in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen.
- Megumi is an aloof and secretive character. This can be best demonstrated when he goes off on his own to confront the curse at the Yasohachi Bridge. As mentioned in the character relationships section, Tsumiki is in a coma that was induced by a curse. Believing that the curse responsible for this is at the bridge, he goes alone. He does this because he feels that the curse is too dangerous to get his teammates involved with. In fact, he never actually reveals to Yuji or Nobara his relationship to the victim or even her current status. Instead he shoulders the burden on his own and tells the other two to go home-- never intending to go home himself. The other two, of course, do not listen and follow him to the bridge. Upon getting there Nobara exclaims, “You never tell us anything about yourself, but you can at least depend on us! We’re your friends!” to which he never answers and only continues contemplating the situation. Had the two not shown up, Megumi would have been killed. Even though he was able to take down the curse at the bridge and the special finger bearer curse (who is much stronger than the previous curses), he passes out from exhaustion. Little does he know, two other individuals entered the barrier and were in hot pursuit of the finger he now possessed as a result of defeating the cursed finger bearer. He passes out from fatigue still holding on to the curse finger and is completely defenseless. Had his teammates not followed as well as defeated these threats, his secretive and distant nature would have been his fatal flaw.
- Megumi is a character that initially limits his own growth by trying to match or support the individuals around him even if it means self sacrifice. This can be highlighted when the two Jujustu schools play a game of baseball. Instead of trying to hit the ball out of the park, he chooses to bunt instead. This move ensures that Nobara can advance to the next base, but does nothing for his own personal growth. Gojo points out “People like Yuji and I would have swung for the fences.” The mentor is trying to teach him to have more of an interest in growth and to surpass his previous limits. He actually encourages him to be more greedy in battle and continue to grow. Even though this example is not life threatening, it is very important. To elaborate, Megumi allows others to excel at the cost of himself. This is very much supported by the fact that he has on multiple occasions considered and one time actually summoned the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. When he is summoned, the general immediately attacks Megumi and causes him to fall into a state of suspended death. Had Sukuna not decided to heal Megumi (for his own interests), this sacrifice would have also led to his death.
Deer Country Attributes
• Canon Powers: Megumi's most impressive ability is his manipulation of Cursed Energy. energy is essentially the power source of all sorcerer's magic. The energy is directly derived from negative emotions. Megumi can wield this energy, in order to create shadow shikigami when he performs his 10 Shadows Technique (not all of the shadows have been revealed in canon). Once he defeats a shikigami he can always summon it again using a hand sign in the shape of a shadow puppet to the corresponding animal. If one is destroyed completely in battle before he can return it, it can not be resummoned; however, the energy of the shikigami is not lost but reborn mixed with another pre-existing shikigami. This is what happens when one of the Divine Dogs is killed, and one beast comes back known as Divine Dog Totality. This creature is significantly stronger than the divine dogs separate, and is able to fight against special grade curses. Before the accident, the dogs (really wolves) could attack, track and be physically touched. Totality Dog can do all of this, but at a much higher, more precise level. His list of shikigami includes a Nue with electrical properties, Toads mainly for distraction or saving properties (long tongues), Escape Rabbits (exactly what they sound like), Max Elephant which has tremendous strength and can cause a tidal wave. There was a Great Serpent snake but it was destroyed in the first few chapters, and never really spoken about after that. The most impressive shikigami he can summon but has no control over is Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga. He is highly coveted and no one has ever been able to tame this shikigami. He can cast his Domain Expansion, Chimera Shadow Garden, which is essentially a zone of space where he has control over and can attack freely while not being attacked easily. He is still very new at using the Chimera Shadow Garden and because of this, he can take physical damage from kick back if he does not do it carefully. Essentially the field is covered in shadows and he can hide in the actual shadows and attack his opponent. He also can create shadow clones in this space. He also regularly has the ability to store items/ weapons inside his own shadow. Aside from these abilities, he is quite good at hand to hand combat. He felt that he was limited to only ranged attacks as a shikigami user, so he trained with Maki and Gojo in order to become proficient in weapons, specifically blades and tonfas. These weapons can be endowed with cursed energy making them more resilient to attacks and cause more damage.
• Blood Type: Cold Blood
• Omen: Wolf in the Likeness of Divine Dog
• Blessed Day: December 22
• Patron Pthumerian: Dorothea
• Blood Power Manifestation: I believe that by choosing cold blood as his blood type I will be able to marry many of his canonical powers to fit very well with this mechanic. For example, I would like him to rely on his blood when he is endowing a weapon with some elemental quality. Also the premise of corruption sounds very similar to curse energy, and I would love to work with him using corrupted energy to fuel some of his 10 Shadow techniques. I want to play him as a character who does not remember a great chunk about his past life, but through using his blood abilities and meeting a variety of new people, he regains memories and pieces of the person he used to be. This means in the beginning, I don't want him to have any special abilities that he is aware of. I also want him to learn how to wield weapons and train. My ultimate goal is to make him a hunter that uses the cold blood properties combined with his Shadow technique. I really think the two complement each other quite well.
